Vyšetrovaním prípadu bola získaná dostatočná dôkazná situácia, ktorá umožnila okresnému vyšetrovateľovi vzniesť obvinenie 27 ročnému Stropkovčanovi z uvedeného zločinu. Všetky odcudzené veci boli v nepoškodenom stave vrátené cirkvi. Obvinenému mužovi ak sa vina pred súdom preukáže, hrozí podľa zákona trest odňatia slobody na tri až desať rokov
